Cake makes dreams come true.
Cake is not just a delicious desert, but it made Mary Alice Yeskey's dream of stardom a reality. Yeskey is a University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) graduate with a degree in English. She has a passion for theater, but unfortunately abandoned her pursuit of becoming an actress after realizing that she wasn't such a big fish in the world as she had been in high school.
Remaining positive, Yeskey became best friends with Duff Goldman, founder of Charm City Cakes, after bonding at college over their passion for Star Wars and George Lucas. Goldman approached Yeskey, requesting that she help him start his bakery here in Baltimore. She only anticipated working at the bakery for a year, realizing that the 70% pay cut would not pay the bills. The business that Mary Alice anticipated as a temporary job soon became her career.
Charm City Cakes has established itself as the crème de la crème of the cake world. Cake has evolved from just delicious treats to works of art, meant to be appreciated by both the eyes and the mouth. Thanks to the vision of Duff Goldman and Mary Alice Yeskey, Charm City Cakes has created our generations new genre of art.
Today, Charm City Cakes is stationed here in Baltimore and California. You can bring the tastes of Charm City Cakes into your own home, with baking products sold in Wal-Mart and Michaels.
