Baltimore -
It’s new inside WMAR, well we’re three months into it anyway. I’m talking about MMJ. But what is an MMJ? That would be a “Muli-Media Journalist”.
The business is changing and that means we need to do more, cover more news, and cover different news. ABC2 is doing this by deploying MMJ’s. These are our employees who are writing, shooting and editing their stories. And they are doing a great job.
The goal is for us to do a better job and getting into your neighborhood. That’s because instead of having 2 person crews for every story, we are able to cover some stories with one person, freeing up another person to tell another story.
So what’s different for you? You’ll meet and see people on air that haven’t ever been on air. But let me tell you, we’ve been able to tap into a hidden talent. We have some incredible photographers, who are also great writers. And reporters, who can not only write, but have a great eye for video.
It’s a change in the way we are doing things, but the goal is simple, deliver more good, local, quality content.
So I’ve added a few links to stories done by a MMJ. Check it out.
