No, under most conditions; however, if they are on call 24/7 my answer would be yes.

I absolutely believe employees of the City of Baltimore should provide their own transportation to and from work, especially in lieu of the fact that the City is self-funded and when city vehicles are involved in an accident they decline claims and refuse responsibility. Let's get real folks, Police and Fire employees earn enough to buy cars and gas.

Why not? You've got the Mayor with 3 vehicles at her dispolsal, the Comptroller, City Council President, the Register of Wills, and The City's States Atty. all have city issued cars. Many also go out of the state. So why not let the officers take the car. That less car/officers to patrol our crime/drug ridden neighborhoods.

I would say a big NO the tax payers are paying for the gas and wear and tear on the car. No one hands me a car were they pay the insurance, gas and upkeep They should not be able to get the perks they receive and a paycheck. If you want to save money then cut there paychecks by 50% and see how they like that.b

Sure let them have cars but wouldn't it be more sensible to give these guys XX number of dollars to help with the cost of running them AND SHEILA GIVE UP 2 OF HER FLEET OF 3 CARS TO LOWER EXPENSES ? What is more urgent a business than those who work in Emergency Rooms or Operating Rooms taking call for Emergencys BUT WE ARE ON OUR OWN TRANSPORTATIONWISE!! With Sheila closing down PALS, Librarys and all sorts of childrens centers due to the Budget Problems she should be ashamed of her self indulgence
