Sentencing Date Set For Dixon

Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon will be sentenced on January 21, 2010 after being found guilty last week of fraud involving the misuse of gift cards intended for the needy.

According to the Maryland State Constitution, Dixon will be suspended from office immediately upon sentencing.

ABC2 News has also learned that in addition to the sentencing date, a hearing will be held on January 6 to regarding a motion by Dixon's defense team for a new trial.

Anything that gets her out of office since she doesn't have the decency to do it herself is a good thing for the city.
