Update
Baltimore County fire investigators are looking into what caused a four-alarm apartment fire in Cockeysville. The call came out before midnight at the Hampton Manor Apartments, and it took 100 firefighters several hours to knock out the fire.
Heavy fire was shooting through the roof before a portion of it collapsed. One building is destroyed; two others are damaged.
The American Red Cross is assisting 33 families with clothing and food vouchers. The displaced residents are staying in vacant apartments within the complex or with family or friends.
"Everything I have is gone and I have no insurance. And that's the only thing I can say right now. I don't know what to do. It's devastating to stand here and see all your life and what you work for is gone,” said Elsie Saylor, whose apartment was destroyed.
Many people we talked to do not have renter’s insurance. There was significant loss of property, but no one was injured.
