Mayor Sheila Dixon's trial date is moved back.
Judge Dennis Sweeney bumped the date to November 9. It was scheduled to begin September 30. Instead, her defense team and the state prosecutor's office will be back in court for a hearing on that day.
The defense has until September 8 to file motions to dismiss the case. The state will respond on or before September 18.
After a closed-door meeting with both sides, Judge Sweeney dismissed the original indictment handed up against the mayor and opened proceedings in the new indictment handed down a week ago.
The mayor faces several charges, including perjury and theft.
