A 16-year-old charged in the murder of former City Councilman Ken Harris was in court on Friday. Jerome Williams plead not guilty during an arraignment hearing in Baltimore.
His attorney also requested a trial by jury. His trial date is April 28th. The Defense Attorney said he plans to ask for a change of venue for the case for Williams to get a fair trial.
Court documents said that on September 20, 2008, Ken Harris was shot and killed as he left the New Haven Lounge. The Baltimore City Grand Jury indicted Williams for First-Degree Murder, Robbery, Weapon and Assault charges.
"We are considering filing a motion to change venue as well as a motion to sever as well as other motions relative to the fourth amendment," said Jerome Bivens, Defense Attorney for Jerome Williams.
Williams is the third person charged in the murder of Ken Harris. Charles McGaney and Gary Collins were indicted in December. Their trials are also scheduled for April 28th.
