"Take a deep breath and you’re going to put your mouth along side here and blow as hard as you can."
From head,
"Just like we take your blood pressure in your arms, I'm going to take the blood pressure in your legs."
To toe.......Richard Esbrandt is getting checked out.
"My parents have health problems, so I figured I'd get checked up earlier in life and prevent it."
This vascular screening is just one of several tests Richard is undergoing in his 50,000 mile check up.
"We check our brakes, we change our oil, we rotate our tires, and when it comes to our bodies, we're not so careful."
Matt Goldstein Chief of preventive medicine and wellness at Good Samaritan hospital says from blood work, to vision to hearing, they cover it all in the 50,000 mile check up.
"The benefit of a full body screening or a 50,000 mile checkup is that we're able to identify areas for disease prevention as well as health maintenance. We also might pick up on silent diseases and be able to treat it while it’s curable."
"What this does is it counts your steps as you go around. What we're looking for is any leg pain, chest pain, or shortness of breath."
"A 50 year old who's in the baby boomer age walks 50,000 miles and that’s a lot of wear and tear on your body, and so that's a perfect time to check things from head to toe."
"If you take care of your car it will last longer, so I'm trying to do the same for myself."
Richard is 52.....and so far his body he's thrilled his body is running just as smoothly as a new car fresh off the lot.
