While hospital costs due to patient non-compliance are estimated at $8.5 billion annually, advances in technology are helping people to take their medications properly.

On Good Morning Maryland @ 9, Dr. John O'Brien from the College of Notre Dame School of Pharmacy explained, the new technology not only better manages chronic illness and avoids re-hospitalization, but also saves money.
