Save A Life: Help Gene Beat Cancer

Contributor: Tia Craddock
Last Update: 2/05 11:40 am
Gene Lucas was diagnosed this past September with Mantle Cell Lymphoma, a type of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Gene has already undergone surgery and some very strong chemotherapy, and the doctors are encouraged by what they have seen so far. The next step in Gene’s road to recovery will be a bone marrow transplant.

As of today, there are some potential donors on the National Marrow Donor list that may be promising. There has not been an exact match found yet, and that is where you come in. You could be the donor to help Gene. In addition, you have the potential of helping anyone waiting for a life-saving marrow transplant.

On Good Morning Maryland @ 9, Wendy Gallo and Debbie Hill, hosts of the event spoke about Gene's will to survive and how you can give the gift of life.

The Save A Life event takes place at the Pikesville Hilton on Reisterstown Road from 1-8 p.m. For more information call Wendy at 410-241-2757 or Debbie at 443-465-5277.
