Free Prostate Cancer Screenings

Reported by: Dave McHugh
Last Update: 7/02 12:30 pm

Approximately two-hundred thousand men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year. With the National Cancer Institute reporting over a hundred thousand new cases this year, it is very important that you get checked out.

This morning on Good Morning Maryland @ 9, Jamie spoke with Dr. Jean Ford, the director of the Baltimore City Cancer Plan at Johns Hopkins, and Clifton "Hines" Early, a prostate cancer survivor, who hosts a yearly health event at his church to reach others who might not know. Today's topic focused on spreading the awareness of prostate cancer and what you can do to help protect yourself.

In an effort to help spread prostate cancer awareness ABC2 NEWS has partnered with Johns Hopkins Hospital and the African American Heritage Festival to offer you free and confidential prostate cancer screenings this weekend. No appointments are necessary.

Screenings will take place Saturday July 4th & Sunday July 5th from 12p.m. to 6 p.m. at M&T Bank Stadium at Camden Yards.
