Reported by: Dave McHugh
Last Update: 3/04/2009 3:55 pm
This time of year is always tough on everyone as we deal with illnesses both to ourselves and to our friend, family, and co-workers. And the tough news is that the flu season probably hasn't reached its peak and cold s can happen to any of us anytime.

Today on Good Morning Maryland @ 9 Jamie talked to Dr. Alicia Arbaje from Johns Hopkins Hospital about the recent flu season and whether it would be considered as being bad. They also talk about who can get a flu shot and why it isn't too late to get those shot. Also, other shots you may want to consider getting and the best ways to prevent getting sick.

Wonderful segment. Thank you Dr Arjabe for covering these prevention topics. It matches CDC, NQF and Medicare's mission as well. http://www.medicare.gov/Health/flu.asp

Dr. Abaje is great! Keep her coming. She has information that is so valuable for older adults and their caregivers. And, she delivers it in a professional, yet friendly manner.

I would love to see her on regularly so I can remind my Grandmother to see this. The language is so simple that she would be able to understand and follow the advice. Thanks Dr. Arbaje and Jamie!
