The Baltimore Community Foundation announced $81,500 in scholarship awards to 55 Maryland students.  The largest award, the $10,000 One Step Up Scholarship goes to Jeane Baker.  She will graduate from Baltimore City College High School on June 6th.

The awards were announced at the Foundation's scholarship celebration sponsored by the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium.

Baltimore Ravens Matt Birk will speak at the event.  Sherrone Ricks and Brittany Wharry will also speak at the event. Ricks was the inaugural One Step Up winner in 2008 when she graduated from Western High School. Ricks is now a Sophomore at Bowdoin College.

Wharry is a Baltimore School for the Arts graduate.  She is enrolled at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University.  She won a 2008 Al Sanders Scholarship for Music Studies.

Awards from ten scholarship funds at BCF range from $500 to $10,000 each and go to students planning to pursue or currently pursuing higher education.
