Autism Rally in Annapolis

Reported by: Dave McHugh
Last Update: 2/25/2009 11:28 am
For many parents of autistic children, a rally in Annapolis on Thursday is one of the most important things they can do for their children. They are pretty much fighting for their families.

Today on Good Morning Maryland @ 9 Jamie introduced us to Jennifer and Steve Nakhla whose son, Carter, has a mild form of autism. After his diagnoses, they were able to get him help, but it costs a lot of money because most insurance doesn't cover the needed assistance. They are joining other families in Annapolis on Thursday to see if they can sway lawmakers to change that so more families can get the help the Nahklas know works.

To see the Nakhla's story again, click on the video box to the right of this article. For more information on the Autism Rally in Annapolis, we have provided links to the left.
