First things first – that was a great game! The Ravens were fantastic. It was fun to watch and even better to see them win. Now… my husband, Rob Carlin has been to M & T Bank Stadium countless times. He used to be work at ABC2, covering sports – so he has been to every home game since he came to Baltimore. However, he was thrilled for Sunday’s game because this was his first time going to a Ravens game as a fan, not a reporter. He got to throw on a jersey and enjoy a game instead of report on it. Or so I thought.
The truth is… Rob never stops reporting. In my seat, got a play by play the whole game. Plus - his old job made him quite spoiled with the whole game experience. I realized this early on when we parked. I heard about how much he missed his press parking pass. Then we waited in line to get into the stadium… he pointed out that in the past he didn’t have to do that. Or wait in line for the bathroom, for that matter. Perhaps my favorite moment was when he leaned over and said, “4:43 in the 1
st quarter. This is usually when they give us nachos in the press box.” I also learned before the nachos, they would get eggs, and of course, it’s warmer in the press box. I must have heard about 15 “in the press box” stories.
When we were headed home, celebrating a win, he said he had a blast. After all he got to cheer for the Ravens, hang out with fans (including me), and have the experience that makes it so much fun. Oh yeah, and the Ravens won
