It’s Monday January 4
th and hopefully you are ready to return to work, school and life after a wonderful holiday.
If you make resolutions, you know they are not always easy to keep. My parents used to take them very seriously. I remember when I was growing up, one year they resolved to start wearing seatbelts. It’s an easy resolution, but an important one. They stuck to it. Every year, they came up with something simple and positive. They don’t make resolutions anymore. Perhaps they reached a point of perfection. I asked a couple of years ago what their New Year’s resolution was and they said it was to stop eating box potatoes. They were serious.
I like making resolutions. I love the idea of finding ways to make your self better. According 2010resolution.org, the top resolution is to save money/get out debt and the second is loose weight. Those seem like things we work on all year. Why not try something fun? Learn Spanish, a new skill, or do more volunteer work. Resolve to do something you want to do. Research shows you’re more likely to keep it when you are enjoying it.
Either way, Happy New Year!
