I’m curious to know what people think about this… four tv stations (all NBC affiliates in Raleigh, NC, Columbia, SC, Savannah, GA., and Little Rock, AR) are banning a commercial that was scheduled to run during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The ad promotes veganism (a meatless diet) and is sponsored by People for the Ethical Treatment for Animals… the folks we know well as, PETA.
The commercial depicts a young girl saying grace at Thanksgiving. She gives thanks for "the turkey farms where they pack them into dark, tiny little sheds for their whole lives."
The ad encourages viewers to "Go vegan." A General Manager in North Carolina said he decided to ban the ad in Raleigh and Savannah because it's not appropriate for the spirit of the parade.
Do you agree?
