A Happy Ending

Reported by: Megan Pringle
Last Update: 10/26 10:46 am
On Friday one of the morning producers, Aisha handed me an email from Sgt. Benjamin Terfehr.  He will be deployed to Iraq in March, his family lives in Minnesota, and his engagement was recently called off.  He wrote in his email that he would feel completely alone if it weren’t for his dog Ellie.  That’s why he was so heartbroken when he sent the email to us at 2:00am that his car had been stolen from an Annapolis gas station and his dog was inside.  He was so desperate; he came on our morning show to make a plea for the dog.  During the interview on Good Morning Maryland at 9:00, he said when he is deployed he wants to feel like he has something to come home to and Ellie is that something.  That made me so sad.

On Saturday, he got his dog back.  Police say it sounds like whoever stole Terfehr’s car, dumped the dog.  We interviewed Terfehr over the weekend and he says he is thrilled to have her back.
