BALTIMORE (AP) -- An electric car manufacturer is unveiling in Baltimore what it calls a "game changer" in urban transportation
alternatives, as well as an all-electric car-sharing program.
The Maryland Science Center at the city's Inner Harbor is hosting the debut of Electrovaya's Maya 300. The traditional-looking vehicle gets up to 120 miles on one charge of its lithium-ion battery system.
The company says it has the look and feel of a traditional gas-powered car. The Maya 300 is also available for fleet purchases by businesses and local governments. The company will make the cars available to the public in 2011.
