July 4th and crabs go hand in hand. But with many people scaling back their holiday plans because of tough times, will people shell out the big bucks for crabs this weekend? At Schultz's Crabhouse in Essex, they're in the business of steaming up the perfect pot. Owner Shelly McKinney says, "It's a very, very busy weekend. It's a big weekend for crabs."

But with gas, food, and everything else costing more these days, will people be cutting back on crabs for the fourth? Depends on who you ask. Matt Reid of Annapolis says, "You definitely don't go out and buy jumbos anymore because they're $250 a bushel. That's a little pricey."

But Terry Mancuso of Shrewbury, PA says, “We're all going to a friend's house for a cookout and to have some crabs actually. The way I look at it, it's a holiday, it's once in a while so we got to bite the bullet and do it." And you know what they say about crabs. When you get a craving for them, you've got to have them no matter what they cost. That's why at Schultz's, they expect a lot of people to come in for the 4th to hammer up.

McKinney says, "The demand for crabs, it hasn't changed. I mean our customers are still coming for the crabs." A dozen crabs at Schultz's this weekend will cost you anywhere from 32 to 66 dollars, depending on the size.
