The graphics are basic and the music selection for this game is ok. While it is a lot of fun racing a variety of vehicles, (atvs, motrocycles, and monster trucks to name a few) its mechanics feel a bit off. Landing jumps is probably the hardest part of the game, unless I’m just missing something. For speed you are required to mess with the throttle in order to boost your ride past the competition. If you can’t land those jumps though, you’re finished and might as well start the race over because you are not going to catch up. Even when adjusting parts, the only difference I noticed was the boost in the speed. I honestly am a complete novice when it comes to choosing parts for racing. Either way, I became an expert at doing face plants when landing. It might be a good idea to borrow this game or rent it first. I consider myself a pretty good gamer, but not like some of you who can become experts of a game immediately. So maybe I am just missing something and that’s the reason I’m having such problems with the landings. Otherwise, I really did like this game and especially when I was landing jumps. Going those crazy distances and pulling off a trick gives it that extra edge. And to land it and stay in first really brings the competition out of you. Right from the beginning you can choose your path to where you want to go in your racing career and that dictates the type of racing you will do. Winning races is where you get the bulk of you cash (obviously) and you can get a little extra with pulling off the moves in midair. You start with your basic vehicle, but after you start winning you can purchase others. That’s pretty much it. Its racing, its awesome racing, but only if you master the mechanics of the is game.
