Last Update: 7/29/2009 9:19 am
Ketchup isn't just a condiment.  According to Reader's Digest "Extraordinary Uses for Ordinary Things", ketchup can be used for other things around the house.

Ketchup can get rid of chrlorine green in your hair.  According to the book, use it like shampoo, but leave ketchup in for 15 minutes and use baby shampoo to wash it out.  It should get rid of the odor and the color.

Ketchup can also shine copper pots.  The book points out that ketchup is much cheaper than commercial removers and you can use it without gloves.

The condiment can also keep silver sparkling.  Dunk your ring, bracelet or earring into a small bowl of ketchup for a few minutes.  The book warns that it should only be used on smooth surfaces and shouldn't be left in the ketchup for too long.
