Y of Central Maryland Expands

The Y of Central Maryland has big news. It will open a new Family Center in Parkville. This new facility will open in the North Plaza Shopping Center.

It will be a full service Family Center that will offer a wide variety of health and well being programs. It will serve people of all ages, fitness levels and backgrounds.

The opening of the Parkville Family Center Y is scheduled for June 2010.

"This expansion is directly responsive to our strategic plan, which calls for making Y membership for all a core objective as broad based membership in the Y will lead to a healthier and more connected community," said John Hoey, President & CEO of the Y of Central Maryland.

The programs at the new center will include: spirit, mind and body classes for children, adults and seniors. They can also enjoy sports, swimming, water aerobics, martial arts and yoga.
