Is someone in your family still not ready for the DTV switch on June 12, 2009?
Millions of people still don't have converter boxes... because their $40 coupons never arrived, or expired before they could use them. Finally, help is on the way.
Many have Expired CouponsLinda Clark plays by the rules. Last year, she followed the government's advice....and applied for two free DTV converter box vouchers. When they arrived, she tucked them in a drawer.
Linda Clark says "I just set it aside. I said my coupons are here. You know what we do, set it aside...didn't realize they have an expiration date."
Bad move. Linda discovered her two $40 coupons were
good for only 90 days.
Linda says "when I told one store my coupons had expired they said there's nothing we can do about that."
Help is on the WayBut help is finally coming. As part of the Obama Stimulus package, you can now reapply for converter box coupons....
if yours never showed up or expired. You can register for one new coupon at the website

After months of frustration, TV viewers like Linda may finally be able to use their $40 DTV coupon.
Waited too Long to Apply for coupons? There's also good news for people who waited too long to apply...and found the coupons all gone by the time they applied.
The coupons are now flowing again, thanks to the stimulus.
So put in your application, so you don't waste your money. I'm John Matarese.
