Howard County Police say a 67-year-old violin teacher has been charged with sexually abusing an 11-year-old student.
Police said Ming Yueh Liang of Ellicott City has been charged with eight sex offenses and eight counts of second-degree assault.
Police said Monday the victim and her mother told investigators that the teacher touched the child repeatedly during private lessons at his home.
The mother said she was present during the lessons between March and May, but had an obstructed view of her daughter and the teacher.
Investigators are urging other students who may have been abused to contact police.
Police said Liang has been released on unsecured bond.
