Trial Set in Harford County Deputy Shooting

A trial is set to begin for a Cecil County man charged with shooting a sheriff's deptuy during a drug raid at his home last December.

The trial is expected to start Monday and last for two days.

James Ratledge, 61, faces attempted first- and second-degree murder charges along with reckless endangerment and weapons charges.

The Harford County sheriff's deputy, who was helping the Cecil County Joint Narcotics Task Force, was wearing a protective vest and suffered a minor wound.

Ratledge was wounded when authorities returned fire.
