A 15-year-old boy accused of raping and fatally stabbing a pregnant woman at her Elkton townhouse is scheduled to stand trial in January.
Court records show a Jan. 11 start date for the trial of Robert Ervin, who is charged as an adult with first- and second-degree murder and other offenses in the slaying of Jennifer Thompson in July. To date, Ervin has not sought to have his case transferred to juvenile court.
Police say Ervin raped and killed Thompson during an argument that began when she asked him to leave. Thompson's body was discovered after running water from her bathroom sink seeped into an adjacent townhouse.
