Police have arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery in Westminster.

The owner of Lilly's Mexican Mart called police late last night saying a white male threatened him, his wife, and 5-year old son with a knife as they were walking to their car just after closing their business at 39 East Main Street.  The robbery happened on Locust Lane.

Jose Gomez says the man demanded their money.  Gomez says he turned over his cash and the suspect, wearing what police describe as distinctive clothing, fled on foot toward Main Street.

Another officer working at the time of the robbery recognized the suspect description as an individual he had encountered earlier in the evening.  A photo array was prepared and the victim ultimately identified the suspect as 27-year old Ronald Lee Foy of Westminster.  Police took Foy into custody without incident just before 1:30 a.m.  Investigators say Foy was in possession of the money taken in the robbery.

He's been charged with armed robbery, theft and related charges.  Foy is currently being held in the Carroll County Detention Center in lieu of a $50,000.00 bond.
