The city of Baltimore has surpassed 200 homicides for the year as officers investigate two unrelated murders that happened within hours of each other.
The first shooting happened Sunday just after 5 p.m. on Garrison Boulevard in West Baltimore. Officers found a man shot several times inside the living room of an apartment. The man died several minutes later after paramedics arrived.
The second shooting happened at 11:40 p.m. Sunday, a man was found in the 1900-block of East Lanvale Street with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to the Johns Hopkins Hospital where he later died.
The year's homicide total now stands at 201 compared to 193 this time last year.
Police have no suspects and no motives in either case.
