BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore police are investigating two rapes that investigators believe may be related.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the first happened about 6:10 a.m. Friday in the 1300 block of Harford Avenue. The second occurred Saturday about 2:45 a.m. in the 400 block of Colvin Street.
In both instances, a man approached the victims at a bus stop, threatened the woman with a weapon and dragged her to a nearby secluded area, where he sexually assaulted them.
Guglielmi says there is stepped up law enforcement in the Eastern district where the crimes occurred, and officers arecombing through sex offender registries. Transit police have been asked to increase patrols at bus stops.
