Woman Charged With Jessup Kidnapping

Last Update: 9/23/2009 1:56 pm
A woman was arrested for kidnapping a 4-year-old boy at a bus stop in Jessup.

It happened just before 12:30 yesterday on Clark Road.

The victim's mother was sitting in her car, waiting for the school bus.  Her son was outside, playing near the car.

Police say at some point, 50-year-old Leslie Offutt picked the boy up and started walking away with him.  The child yelled, asking Offutt to put him down.  She did and ran away.

Officers searched the area and found Offutt in her home.  She was arrested and charged with kidnapping.
