Attempted Carjacking in Laurel

Anne Arundel County Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in Laurel early Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to the Walmart in the 3500-block of Russett Green East at around 1:21 p.m. The female victim told police she was getting out of her car when a man approached her and demanded the keys to her vehicle.

The suspect grabbed the victim around the neck, trying to get the keys from her hand. The victim screamed and the suspect ran away.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspect.

The suspect is said to be a black male in his early 20's. He has dark skin and a beard and is approximately 5'10" to 6'0" tall and 180 to 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a Northface fleece jacked with a black hoodie and dark jeans.
