No purchase necessary. Open only to legal residents of WMAR-TV viewing area which includes only the (8) Maryland counties of Harford, Baltimore, Baltimore City, Anne Arundel, Carrol, Cecil, Queen Anne’s and Howard, who are 18 years of age or older as of date of entry. Void wherever prohibited by law. Employees of Scripps Howard Broadcasting Company d/b/a WMAR, their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers (collectively, “Sponsor”) and the immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by the official rules and the decisions of Sponsor.

TO ENTER:

1) Go to www.abc2news.com, click on contests and follow the on-screen instructions to enter.

On a 3x5 card, hand print your complete name, street address (no P.O. Boxes), city, state, zip code, date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy), plus daytime and evening telephone numbers. (If you do not have a telephone, state “No Phone.” Failure to comply with this or any other official rule will result in disqualification.) Mail your entry in a hand-addressed, business-size envelope (#10) with first-class postage, to: 2 Degree Guarantee, WMAR-TV, 6400 York Rd., Baltimore, MD 21212. Limit one entry per envelope.

2) Watch ABC2news weekdays beginning at 6 PM and weekends beginning at 6:30 PM, and on applicable days, a WMAR meteorologist will give their “2 Degree Guarantee” prediction of the high temperature for the following day. An entrants name will be selected at random and announced on air during that newscast, before the prediction for the temperature the following day is made. If the 2 Degree Guarantee temperature predicted by the WMAR meteorologist is within 2 degrees, above or below, of the official high temperature of the day as recorded at Baltimore Washington Airport (BWI), the entrant’s name announced the day the applicable prediction was made, then that entrant is a winner. The official high temperature recorded at BWI and whether or not the entrants name selected the previous day is a winner will be announced on that evening’s newscast at 6 PM or 6:30 PM. If the predicted temperature is off by more than 2 degrees, the entrants name selected will be put back into the pool of entries.

Limit one entry per person/household address/email address regardless of method of entry. No mechanically reproduced entries of any kind permitted. Illegible and incomplete entries are void. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, mutilated, postage due, misdirected entries or entries not received. In the event of a dispute over who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail account identified on the online entry form. The authorized account holder is deemed to be the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, service provider, or online organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned.

RANDOM DRAWING: Entrants name will be selected by random drawing every applicable day before ABC2news at 6 pm or 6:30 pm, from all eligible entries received. Whether or not the entrant selected is a winner or not, will be based on the criteria described in the TO ENTER section above. Decisions of Sponsors are final on all matters. Winners will be announced on air during ABC2news at 6 PM or 6:30 PM, ABC2news at 11 PM and notified by phone/mail. Limit one prize per person/household address. Odds of winning will depend upon the number of eligible entries received.

PRIZES: The prize to be awarded will change at random and will be described on air prior to announcing the potential winner’s name. The approximate retail value of the prizes will consistently be less than $50.00. In general terms, the items to be awarded will be similar to umbrellas, ice scrapers, bobble heads, based on discretion of Sponsor. Prizes consist of only those items specifically listed as part of the prize. No substitution or transfer/assignment of prize by winners permitted.

All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of winners. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Potential winners (or parent/legal guardian if potential winner is a minor in his/her state of residence) may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability/Prize Acceptance Form, which may require social security number, postmarked within 10 days of the date on notification materials. Noncompliance within this time period and/or return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and an alternate potential winner may be selected by random draw from all remaining eligible entries. All winners must produce picture or some other form of proper identification to claim any prize. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize with prize of equal or greater value. Acceptance of any prize constitutes permission to the Sponsor to use winners’ name, voice, statements, image and likeness for purposes of advertising and trade, in any medium, without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.

TERMS: Sponsor not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing, the offering or the announcement of any prize or in the administration of the promotion, whether caused by computer, technical or human error. Winners assume all liability and agree to hold Sponsor harmless for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this promotion or use or redemption of any prize. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, incomplete, illegible, faulty, or incorrect transmissions, incorrect announcements of any kind, technical hardware or software failures of any kind, any damage to any person's computer related to or resulting from participating in the online portion of the promotion, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission that may limit a user’s ability to participate in the sweepstakes whether caused by computer, technical or human error. All terms of promotion shall be construed according to, and any disputes shall be subject to, the laws of the State of Ohio. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the program for any reason, including but not limited to, if fraud, misconduct or technical failures destroy the integrity of the promotion; or if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper administration of the promotion as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify, freeze or prohibit the participation of an individual if fraud or tampering is suspected, or if the individual fails to comply with any requirement of participation or with any provision in these Official Rules. Any attempt to undermine the operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify and/or seek damages from any individual making any such attempts to the full extent permitted by law.
