Meet mike Lind, this 26-year-old from Havre De Grace, graced the pages of Cosmopolitan magazine last November, honored with a spot among the country's 50 most eligible bachelors.
Lind was picked for the position while on the job.
"Doing a battle staff ride in Gettysburg PA, where you lead corporate execs through different battles, to show them leadership techniques."
That’s right, Lind's in the army. So if you call this bachelor, you might want to consider calling him "Captain".
Lind says a magazine representative was in his group and wanted him in the bachelor spread.
"She said send me some pics and alright, I sent her and she said hey they want to you to come to NY"
From there, it was off to the Hamptons for his photoshoot.
So, how has life changed for one of Maryland’s hottest males?
"People recognize me on the street. My boss likes to make fun of me a lot"
But this wasn't his first brush with the runway.
When he was stationed in Korea 3 years ago, he got picked to do a TV commercial for the show "sex and the city."
He forgot about modeling when he returned state-side.
"Over here just figured I was Joe White Guy until Donna picked me up off the battlefield"
Now, he's back in the modeling business and says he enjoys the variation it brings to his life.
"Modeling you can let loose, free to do whatever to express your creative side rather than disciplined side"
Lind says he got thousands of emails from his appearance in Cosmo, ranging from the girl at blockbuster:
"I figured she'd tell me I have a late movie"
To the sincere:
"Some people wrote just to say thanks for being a soldier"
To the more obvious invitations:
"Risqué emails. Girls sending pics of themselves in the buff"
And he replied to every single one of them.
"It’d be horrible if they took the time to write and not get a response"
So how does a bachelor like Lind go about meeting the ladies?
It’s quite simple, actually.
"I just kinda blink, smile and hope I don’t look dumb."
And Mike's technique is apparently working.
He’s now quite taken with a woman he's known for five years.
