Last Update: 2/27/2007 2:18 pm
Denise: with thousands of sites to go to, it can be hard to figure out where to find that special something and where to find it on sale, but not if you know what sites to go to first. Crowded malls, crazy parking lots and long lines. Many shoppers hoping to avoid the chaos will be making a mad dash for the internet.

Shopper: "It's easier, I don’t feel like getting in my car and going somewhere, I can, there's more selection, I can control what I get, it's always in stock usually and they'll tell me if it's not."
Anne: "I don’t have to drive, find parking and wait in line and deal with crowds"
Anne Krajewski says she'll buy 30 percent of her presents on line this year and she's not alone. Online sales are expected to increase by 20 percent. What will be bought? 45 percent of shoppers will buy books, 44 percent clothes and 42 percent will pick up entertainment items.
Anne: "It seems like when you go to the mall sometimes they only carry certain brands, products you have to go to a couple of places to find what your looking for."
Denise: More than half of online retailers say holiday sales should increase by a third 20 percent hope to see jumps as high as 75 percent. Want to save even more time? Look for a site that does the legwork for you, Like shopzilla, pricegrabber, or shopping.com. Shopzilla spokeswoman: "If you come to shopzilla you find a trusted merchant who's going to get it there by Christmas." Denise: These comparison sites let you look at products and prices from thousands of cyber shops at once. Anne: "You can just go to one site, type in one product and it will show you the different sites that sells those products." Denise: Sales are easy to spot in the store, but how do you find a bargain online? Shopper: "Pretty much either you go there and find a deal, or its a waste of time."
Denise: There are websites that do the work for you, compiling online coupons for hundreds of stores. Including retail chains like Ann Taylor, the Gap and the Disney store. Anne: "It's nice to see what deals are out there what products different stores are offering, really just have to click here and there." Denise: You can find discounts ranging from free shipping to hundreds of dollars off on websites like currentcodes.com or deal hunting.com. And with online coupons, there's no printing and cutting. And no going to the store, to fight the crowds.
