Some Maryland students won first place during the annual State Leadership and Skills Championship in March. More than 100 SkillsUSA Maryland students will advance to the national competition in Kansas City, Missouri in June.
SkillsUSA serves more than 300,000 CTE student and professional members enrolled in trade, technical and skilled service occupations. This also includes the allied health professions.
There are 13,000 SkillsUSA chapters in high schools, trade and technical schools and community colleges across the country. SkillsUSA Maryland has a statewide membership of 5,000 students, representing 23 counties and Baltimore City.
Memebers have started training for their chosen career paths in high school, earning post secondary credits, degrees and certifications at two and four year colleges, technical schools and apprenticeship programs.
