We lost Jerry Dotterweich Friday. You knew him as Jerry D.
He ran Jerry's Belvedere across from the Hallow on Northern Parkway. He sold that years ago and opened up Jerry D's on Harford Rd in 1979.
Before that he had a cab stand in Parkville, floor cleaning business, didn't work for anyone but Uncle Sam.
During the Korean War he was on the front line, only to come home and become a multimillionaire. He grew up in Highlandtown, married Edna Myers. His niece donated a kidney to him a few years ago. And a few years back he gave his Mt. St. Joe's $100,000.
