We all get distracted at work. But it turns out using your cell phone at work to text, check Facebook or schedule a personal appointment is costing your boss, big.

A survey by staffing firm OfficeTeam found the average employee spends at least eight hours a week using their phones at the office for non-work activities and doing other personal tasks. Younger employees were even worse. Researchers found workers under 35 spent nearly two hours a day on their phones or doing personal tasks.

Researchers also found workers use their cell phones to get on sites banned by their employer. 58 percent of officer workers admitted to doing that, while only 39 percent of managers think that happens a lot.

Researchers say while it's easy to get distracted by your phone, they suggest workeuse their lunch breaks to check twitter.
