The social media company, Twitter announced it would update the policy on violent or abusive posts.

Twitter's policy will not allow users to post content aimed at harassing, intimidating, or using fear towards other followers. The update is another method in which users can fight abuse beyond blocking, muting and reporting tweets.

Twitter can lock or suspend accounts if tweets include violent threats, harassment, hateful conduct, impersonation and posts of private information. Twitter, along with other social media networks, has adjusted its policies to stop posts encouraging terrorism and hate speech.
