Ruth's Chris Steak House on Water Street will close Friday, the restaurant's operator said in a news release.
The restaurant has been at that location for more than two decades. President Steve de Castro said in a statement that he will focus resources on growing the business' Pier 5 location.
“As we continue to grow as an organization we have clearly realized that our most important area of focus is the service we provide to our guests and with the changing marketplace dynamics, and shifting emphasis on the Baltimore Harbor and East Harbor area it was necessary to make this change," de Castro said.
Employees of the Water Street restaurant will be transferred to positions at other Ruth's Chris locations.
Water Street was de Castro's first Ruth's Chris location, followed by others in Maryland, New Jersey and North Carolina. Last month, the tenth Ruth's Chris opened in the Villages of Odenton Station.
