A fuel leak prompted Volkswagen to recall 340,000 vehicles over a potential fire hazard.

The German company reports the fuel leaks from a filter in its Volkswagen Golf, Golf GTI hatchbacks, Golf Sportwagen and Audi A-3 luxury cars, creating a fire hazard. However, a Volkswagen spokesperson said there are no reported injuries or incidents with the defect.

Customers affected by the recall will be given a notice by mail and then are asked to take their vehicles to the dealership to replace the part free of charge.
