Giant recalls cookies over milk allergy concerns

Giant has stopped selling certain cookies because they may contain milk, an allergen that is not listed on the ingredient label.

This product is safe to consume for individuals who do not suffer from a milk allergy.

The cookies included in the recall are the Back to Nature Classic Crème Cookie, 12 oz, UPC 81989801103 with best by dates of Sept. 16, 210 SEP 16 and 16 SEP 16 labeled on top of the package.

Giant has received no reports of illnesses to date. The action follows a recall by Back to Nature Foods, LLC.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk may run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

Customers who have purchased this product should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to Giant for a full refund.
