Giant Food Market announces recalls of McCormick seasoning for possible salmonella contamination

Giant Food has removed McCormick Ground Oregano from their shelves, according to a release from the supermarket.

McCormick Ground Oregano may be contaminated by Salmonella, officials said.

Giant Food asks customers that have purchased the McCormick Ground Oregano to take their receipts to the store from which the product was purchased to receive a refund. Customers are also instructed to discard any unused portion of the product.

McCormick Ground Oregano, .75 oz., UPC 5210000356, with a Best By date of AUG 21 16 H or AUG 22 16 H

Salmonella can cause Salmonellosis. Symptoms of Salmonellosis include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within 72 hours of the initial contact. Other symptoms include chills, headache, nausea, and vomiting and may last seven days, officials said. 

No reactions have been reported at this time, officials said.
