LANDOVER, Md. - Several flavors of Popsicle brand ice pops have been recalled due to an undeclared allergen on the ingredient label, a spokeswoman for Giant Food announced in a release .
The flavors orange, cherry and grape were exposed to milk. The product however is safe to consume by people who are not allergic to milk. (More details below)
“Giant has received no reports of illnesses to date,” the release states. “People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
“Symptoms of food allergies typically appear from within a few minutes to two hours after a person has eaten the food to which he or she is allergic,” the release continued.
Customers who purchased the ice pops should discard the unused portions and return the box to Giant with a receipt for a refund.
