Giant recalls Nature's Promise trail mix, nuts

Giant said Tuesday it has stopped selling certain Nature's Promise trail mix and walnuts after Woodstock Farms Manufacturing recalled the products due to concerns about listeria.

The recall includes:

  • Nature’s Promise Cranberry Trail Mix, 12 oz., UPC 68826706612 with a best by date of Sept. 17, 2016 and a lot number of 16082, 16099 or 16117
  • Nature’s Promise Walnut Halves & Pieces, 7oz., UPC 68826714404 with best by dates of April 2, 2017 and April 19, 2017 and a lot number of 16093 or 16110

Giant has received no reports of illnesses to date. 

Customers who have purchased these products should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to Giant for a full refund.

Consumers looking for additional information on the recall may call Woodstock Farms Manufacturing at 1-800-526-4349, option 2. In addition, customers may call Giant Food Customer Service at 888-469-4426 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for more information. Customers can also visit the Giant Food website.

The recall follows several other similar recalls related to listeria concerns. Consumption of food contaminated with listeria can cause listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially fatal disease.
