Cabinet locks being recalled

The U.S.Safety Commission has recalled about 900,000 Safety First Push 'N Snap cabinet locks.

The group says young children can disengage the cabinet lock and get inside cabinets.

The recall is for the locks with model numbers 48391 and 48442.

The safety locks are made by Dorel Juvenile Group and were sold nationwide at Bed Bath and Beyond and other stores.

Of the 140 incidents in which children were able to get into cabinets, the commission said three involved children swallowing or handling hazardous cleaners or detergents.

Customers should remove the recalled locks and contact DJG for a free replacement.

Be sure to remove and store dangerous items out of the reach of children.

They were also sold online at Amazon.com from January 2004 through February 2012.

Customers can call DJG at (866-762-3212 Monday through Friday for any additional information.
