NORTHFIELD, Ill. - Kraft Foods Group is voluntarily recalling 7,691 cases of select varieties of regular Kraft American Singles, the company said Monday.
A supplier didn’t store an ingredient per Kraft’s temperature standards, the company said in a news release. While it’s unlikely, this could create conditions that could lead to premature spoiling or foodborne illnesses, the company said.
Kraft said it has had no complaints from consumers about illnesses related to the product, which was only shipped in the United States.
The affected product is limited to four varieties with Best When Used By dates of Feb. 20, 2015, and Feb. 21, 2015. They include:
A 12-ounce package of 16 slices;
A 16-ounce package of 24 slices (36-count case);
A 16-ounce package of 24 slices (12-count case);
A 64-ounce package.
Consumers can find the Best When Used By dates on the bottom of the product package. No other Kraft Singles products are impacted by this recall.
Consumers who bought any of these products should not eat them. They should return them to the store where purchased them for an exchange or full refund. Consumers also can contact Kraft Foods Consumer Relations at 1-800-396-5512.
