Freebies, deals for veterans on Veterans Day

Friday is Veterans Day, and many businesses are offering discounts and freebies to veterans to say thanks.

The website Offers.com has unveiled a complete list of businesses offering discounts. Here are some highlights: 

  • From 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, IHOP is offering veterans and active duty military a free stack of Red, White and Blue pancakes. The pancakes are topped with glazed strawberries, blueberry compote and whipped cream. 
  • Red Lobster will offer a free appetizer or dessert to customers with a valid military ID on Thursday and Friday. Guests may choose their free appetizer or dessert from a special menu.
  • Krispy Kreme is offering veterans a free doughnut of their choice and a small coffee.
  • Chipotle is offering a buy one, get one free deal for all members of the U.S. military, military spouses with ID and veterans Friday. The deal is in effect from 3 p.m. until close on burritos, burrito bowls, salads and tacos.
  • JCPenney will offer a 5 percent discount from Nov. 10-13 to current and former military personnel and their immediate family members with valid military or VA identification provided in-store. 
  • California Pizza Kitchen will offer guests with proof of service a free pizzeria entree from a special menu. 
  • Bar Louie is offering veterans and military service members a free food item of up to $12. 
  • Friendly's is offering a free breakfast, lunch or dinner to veterans and active duty members. 
  • Golden Corral is giving veterans and military members a free drink and a free meal.
  • Applebee's is giving veterans and military members a free meal. 
  • Veterans, retirees and active military members can choose a free entree from a select menu at Chili's on Friday. 
  • At Famous Dave's, all military members can create a Two Meat BBQ Salute with proof of service. 
  • Diners with proof of service at Hooter's can choose a free entree from an exclusive Veterans Day menu. 
  • Mission BBQ is offering military members a free sandwich and a free piece of cake.
