Restaurant Brands International is buying Popeyes Chicken for $1.8 billion, with plans to accelerate growth of the fast food chain.
The deal is expected to close in April.
Restaurant Brands plans to expand Popeyes in the U.S. and around the world.
Popeyes currently has more than 2,600 locations.
Restaurant Brands has more than 20,000 eateries in more than 100 countries and territories.
