Most people are expected to drive, however 3.27 million people plan to hop on a cruise for the long weekend.

There's some good news for the 37.5 million Americans planning to drive to their destinations, you'll pay less for gas than this time last year. The national average is 4 cents cheaper than this time last year. With so many people traveling, AAA expects to rescue more than 338,000 motorists, mostly for lock outs, flat tires, and problems with the battery.

Travelers can expect to pay less for airfare and car rentals over the holiday weekend. According to AAA's Leisure Travel index average airfare prices will be 10 percent lower this year. Hotel costs are the same as last year.
